How do the people who work on the rides at Six Flags get trained?
It seems like they barely check to make sure you are completly belted/strapped in. How do they know the harness or ride is secure? ??? Some of them barely seem old enough to have a job ......
Emphasis on breakdown and emergency situations is the most specific and in-depth kind of training they need, because besides the obvious reasons, these are the kind of situations that do not occur as often as regular operation.
Checking belts and harnesses with great detail is not required because maintenance personnel are required to make sure they are in proper working order, which is why all the operator has to do is pull on those restraints to make sure they are locked into place. If YOU yourself want to make sure your restraints are properly secured, then push up on it (away from your body.) If it happens to come loose during the ride, then pull down on it.
Ride operators are required to be at least 16 years of age in most states. Kentucky, however, recently passed a law requiring them to be at least 18.
